Các dạng IELTS Writing Task 1 – Biểu đồ đường (Line Graph)
Biểu đồ đường (Line Graph) thường sẽ cần bạn so sánh giữa các đường trong biểu đồ với nhau thay vì chỉ tập trung vào phân tích một đường. So với các dạng IELTS Writing Task 1 khác, biểu đồ đường là loại biểu đồ cho thấy xu hướng thay đổi dễ thấy, rõ ràng và khá dễ so sánh.
Việc đi vào quá nhiều chi tiết cũng không cần thiết. Bạn nên tập trung vào những điểm nổi bật như điểm bắt đầu, điểm kết thúc hoặc những điểm có nhiều thay đổi của đường. The graph shows the number of marriages and divorces in the UK between 1975 and 2000.
The line graph illustrates the number of weddings and the breakdown of marriage life in the UK in the years between 1975 and 2000.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that the amount of divorce has grown all over the period. On the other hand, the other three features almost had the same trend, from the early it started to increase after a sudden time it climbed down.
To begin with the divorce and 2nd weddings, in 1975 the number was below 100 thousand after that over time the number rose, while it was the same for the 2nd marriages, though the value was upper 100 thousand. After one and a half decades later these two lines intersect each other and this time the value was approximately 220 thousand. In 2000 the number reached almost 250 thousand.
In 1975, around 340 thousand people married for the first time. Whereas the total marriage ceremony was close to 500 thousand. Then both had raised until 1985 and reached the peak value which was roughly 630 and 410 thousand respectively. After 1995 the number of total marriages remained to level off.

The chart compares population shares in various regions of the world with the distribution of wealth in these same regions. It can be seen that population shares in almost all cases do not relate to the distribution of wealth.
Even though North America has only approximately 6% of the world’s population, it boasts nearly 34% of global wealth. A similar situation can be seen in Europe, which has 15% of the global population but 30% of global wealth, and the rich (high income) Asia-Pacific countries with 5% of the world’s population but 24% of its wealth.
On the other hand, the total wealth of people in China, India, Africa, Latin America and Caribbean, and the other poor (lower income) countries in Asia-Pacific is far less than their share of the world population. This is most striking in India, where 16% of the world’s population own only 1% of the world’s wealth and in China, which has the highest percentage of global population (24%) but only 3% of the world’s wealth.

The table below shows the total amount of road traffic in the London borough of Enfield for the years 2008 – 2015.

The table shows six categories of the total road traffic in the London borough of Enfield for the years 2008 to 2015. The totals are all given in thousands of vehicle miles.
The fewest road miles were completed by pedal cycles. There were 1542 miles completed in 2008 and this steadily rose to 1712 miles in 2011, before falling again to a low of 1017 miles in 2014. 2015 saw a rise again to 1360 miles. Motorcycles experienced a contrasting trend, miles dropping from 2008 to 2010 before rising again to 2014, followed by a small drop in 2015.
Light goods vehicles also showed a general trend, going down from 2008 with 110,150 miles to 87,397 miles in 2011 and then rising again to 115,311 miles in 2015.
Cars showed the highest miles completed, though there was no real trend, with numbers going up or down randomly in all years. The highest figure was 644,208 miles in 2011 and the lowest was 578,072 in 2012. Buses and coaches and heavy goods vehicles also showed no discernable trends.
The totals for all vehicles also showed no apparent trend with figures going up or down in following years. The year with the highest miles was 812,323 in 2011 and the lowest was 747,214 miles in 2012.

The pie charts indicate that there are some major differences but also a number of similarities in the proportion of time younger and older people spend on six different activities on the Internet.
The most noticeable difference relates to the most popular activity for each of the groups. Social networking is the most favored activity for the younger group, accounting for 24 percent of their time on the Internet. This contrasts with just eight percent spent on this by 60 to 70 year olds. The largest percentage of Internet time for older users (29 percent) was spent on making bookings, for example for travel, while for younger users this was their least popular activity, at just five percent.
In other activities there were surprisingly similar percentages for the two groups. Both groups spent a fairly large amount of time researching, for example, health matters (26 percent for older people, 20 percent for younger). The younger age group spent 21 percent of their time accessing music and films but this was only four percent more than the older age group. Finally, there was only a two percent difference between the two groups in the proportion of time they spent buying things on the Internet.

The given picture illustrates the process by which instant noodles are produced.
Overall, it is clear that there are 8 stages in this linear process, commencing with storing flour in silos and ending with labeling and sealing cups.
At the first stage of this process, flour is pumped from a truck into tower silos for storage before being put into a mixing machine, where it is mixed with a combination of water and oil. After this stage has been completed, the resulting mixture is rolled over to create dough sheets, and then going through a machine to be separated into strips.
During the next stage, these dough strips are molded into noodles discs, after which they are cooked with oil and left to dry. Following this, these dried noodle discs, together with vegetables and spices, are put into cups, and the process finally ends with these cups being labeled and sealed.

The plans show the changes to a health centre over the last six years. Since 2005, the centre has expanded in a number of different ways. Firstly, an extension has been added to accommodate a minor operations room. Also, the interior has been significantly remodeled. In 2005, there was a large entrance area with wide doors and a lot of open space for waiting, with the reception desk in the middle.-There were only three consulting rooms and a physiotherapy room. This room has stayed the same size but the consulting rooms have been made smaller and increased to four in number. The office has been made smaller and the reception desk put in front of it. A children’s play area has been added in the corner near the entrance.
Outside there have also been changes. The car park has been expanded with room for 18 more cars. The garden is decreased in size to accommodate the extra parking space.

The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.

The bar chart and the table compare export value of five different industries in a nation between 2015 and 2016.
It is noticeable that export value in most categories witnessed an upward trend over the given period. In addition, earnings gained from the export of petroleum and engineered goods were highest amongst other products.
With regard to petroleum products, there was a moderate increase in export value, from just over 60 billion dollars to approximately 63 billion – a 3% increase. A similar growth in value was seen in the export of engineer goods, in spite of a faster pace, at 8.5%.
The remaining categories recorded lower export earnings. The amounts of money gained from exported gems and jewelry declined significantly by 5.18%, from around 43 million dollars in 2015 to just above 40 million in 2016. In contrast, the export earning of textiles went up sharply to over 30 million dollars in 2016 (a 15.24% rise), while the figure for agricultural products was fairly steady, hovering at around 30 million.
